Vault Energy Trust is a conventional, Calgary-based energy income trust. The areas of operations are geographically focused primarily within west central Alberta, and northeast British Columbia. The assets are well suited to a Trust, as they are characterized by large light oil and natural gas volumes in place, a long reserve life, a predictable production profile, competitive netbacks, and opportunities to increase throughput in plants and facilities. Vault operates approximately 70% of its production, an advantage as it allows Vault to have hands-on asset management of capital programs and operating costs.
