Eldorado Gold Corp (TSX ELD ..AMEX EGO) modified: Aug 22, 2011
We have superior gold assets in Brazil and Turkey, two countries with
substantial geological potential. Our wholly owned São Bento Mine in Brazil
produced 82,024 ounces of gold at a cash cost of US$294 per ounce in 2004. São
Bento has produced more than 1.5 million ounces of gold since 1987. At December
31, 2004, it had proven and probable reserves of 307,000 ounces and measured and
indicated resources of 379,000 ounces.
Our wholly owned Kisladag Project in western Turkey will
begin production in February, 2006 as an open pit operation. We anticipate
producing 144,000 ounces of gold in the first year, increasing to an average of
240,000 ounces of gold annually through the anticipated mine life of 14 years,
at a cash cost of US$181 per ounce. Kisladag has 5.1 million ounces of proven
and probable gold reserves.
We are expanding our pipeline of projects through ongoing
exploration in Brazil and Turkey and China. On May 30, 2005 Eldorado entered
into an agreement to acquire all outstanding shares of Afcan Mining Corporation.
The transaction is expected to close on September 16, 2005.
Eldorado has more than 6.15 million ounces of proven and
probable gold reserves and 10.7 million ounces of gold resources. Eldorado and
Afcan combined would have more than 7.0 million ounces of proven and probable
gold reserve and 12.0 million ounces of gold resources. We are unhedged and are
well positioned to experience continued growth in value.
